Marvina White

Marvina White and her family came to Stanford in 1998. Marvina was a lecturer in Writing and Rhetoric in the English Department. Previously, she’d been director of the expository Princeton Writing Program (PWP) and a lecturer in English at City College of New York, her alma mater. Marvina has been involved in various initiatives in service to this community including a previous term on the SCRL board. In addition, she has served as neighborhood safety captain for SCRL Emergency Preparedness. Marvina is a co-founder of the Parent Network for Students of Color (now PASS), she was a member of the Palo Alto Council of PTAs and on the board of Adolescent Counseling Service as well as other non-profit organizations. Marvina plays tennis at SCRA.
